Systems I built, and what each one tests.

I build systems that test whether a claim is actually supported by its evidence — in contracts, markets, and food systems.

Primary-source discipline, reproducible coding, measurable controls, and working software.

Contract verification & governance

Warrant·Check and the ASR come from the Consensus Is Not Evidence project: the evidence offered for a claim, and agreement between the parties, are kept separate from whether the claim is established.

Tests whether a contract promise can be proved

Warrant·Check

A free tool that reads a contract and tests each promise against six requirements for proof: independent verification, a suitable method, a defined benchmark, a conclusive link between the benchmark and the promise, comprehensive coverage, and a relevant timeline. Each requirement is marked present, partial, or absent, so the gaps show up while the contract can still be changed rather than when it is disputed.

Why it matters: Shows where a contract says what must be done but not how fulfilment would be proved.

Separates evidence from what it proves

Adjudicated Settlement Record (ASR)

A contract-settlement system that tests whether a claimed settlement value is supported by the contract and the evidence submitted for it. It carries forward Warrant·Check’s reading of the contract, then separates whether evidence can be accepted from whether it actually proves the claim, testing it against the contractual requirement, the result, and the relevant time and place. Each part of the claim gets its own record: met, not shown, not met, or contract unclear.

Why it matters: Prevents the presence of evidence, or agreement between the parties, from being treated as proof that a contractual claim has been established.

Measures how far collusion can move before a check fires

Collusion-Exposure Test

Quantifies how much a colluding group with signing power could move before an independent check is triggered, then shows how a cumulative-window checkpoint can cap the exposure while preserving ordinary payment flow. Built on the recorded KUSCCO figures and other Kenyan SACCO cases, with every figure tied to a court judgment or a reported forensic audit.

Why it matters: Converts a governance concern into a measurable exposure threshold.

Structural instruments

Both instruments use the same gated method: hold the visible outcome fixed, change one structural variable, watch whether the reading flips, and state the falsifier that would overturn it. Each is read against worked cases.

Separates visible dominance from structural defensibility

Lease or Moat

Tests whether a company’s dominant position is a genuine moat or a lease. The variable that changes is ownership: whether the company owns the constraint its position runs through, or rents it from someone who could take it back. Two gates, five questions, and eleven worked cases across software, payments, mobile money, semiconductors and luxury goods.

Tests when quality upgrading becomes rational

The Market Suffocation Hypothesis

Tests whether upgrading product quality is rational while a market still pays a competitive price for non-compliant product. The variable that changes is access to the low-quality market (θ), with verification rate and price structure held fixed. Distinguishes a failure of measurement or incentives from a market that simply remains open to low-quality supply. Seven worked cases.

Food science & evidence

Builds a reproducible evidence base

A Catalogue of Practices for Improving the Nutrition, Safety, Absorbability and Functionality of Foods

A structured evidence base of 96 entries and 396 graded outcome rows across seven problem classes, built to compare interventions against defined food-related problems while preserving the conditions under which each result was obtained. Deposited, versioned, citable.

Why it matters: Turns heterogeneous primary studies into an evidence base that others can check and reuse.

Makes evidence inspectable

The Evidence Atlas

Maps a food-system problem along its value chain and shows what was tried at each stage against what was actually measured, with every figure keyed to its primary source. Two demonstrations are live: aflatoxin, from field to plate, and iron fortification, from source to a measured fall in anaemia.

Why it matters: Makes the evidence chain inspectable rather than asking the user to trust a summary.

Turns a verification concept into a piloted product

Woqxa

A portable rent-payment record that lets a tenant carry verified payment history from one landlord to the next. Built and piloted; a two-sided version, in which tenants also rate landlords, is in deployment.

Why it matters: Tests whether a verification record can be useful enough for both sides of a tenancy to keep it.
